Karma isn’t going to get women better pay, but a little information might.
This is the tweet of Microsoft Chief Operating Office Satya Nadella which sparked controversy recently. Satya Nadella meant that women need to work hard to get a better pay instead of depending on the Karma. This is the same statement that created negative tweets against the CEO of Microsoft.
But as soon as realizing his wrongness, Nadella apologized and wrote to his employees that, ‘If you think you deserve a raise, you should just ask’.
There was uproar in the social media and on the blog posts about het comments made my Satya Nadella. Meanwhile, Microsoft posted on its official site that the question was completely wrong for which Satya Nadella answered. The company tried to cover the damage created by the tweet of their CEO. It went on saying that ‘men and women should get equal pay for equal work. And when it comes to career advice on getting a raise when you think it’s deserved, Maria’s advice was the right advice. If you think you deserve a raise, you should just ask.’
According to Redmond, a Washington based company, 29 percent of employees of Microsoft are women.
