Superstar Rajinikant is back with a bang!
Finally he has come back and what a comeback for a superstar like Rajnikanth who has seen success scripts like Robot. However, he experienced a flop in the form of motion capture flick Kochadaiyaan, for his dummy presentation in the form of animation which absolutely disappointed Rajni’s fans all over the world. This it the reason probably his latest flick Linaa completed shoot within 6 months and hit the screens today. With Rajni’s magic in acting, K.S.Ravi Kumar’s genius in direction, with the presence of stunning actresses like Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha, and of course with A R Rahman’s magical tunes, Lingaa hit the screens today all over. Let us have a look at the movie once.
Lingaa will see the veteran actor portraying dual roles. The film revolves around the construction of a dam, and how one man fights for it.
Action, drama, comedy and romance – This movie has everything.
The story takes us to the British rule in India. The movie opens in a village where Raja Lingeswaram (Rajnikanth) is treated as God for natives. He is respected there with his nobility and hardwork. Meanwhile, Lingeswaram decides to build a reservoir that helps the villagers give employment. With the betrayal of English government, there comes situation where Lingeswaram has to leave the town. The remaining story is all about how Lingeswaram have faced the problems and completed his dam, which is his life time ambition. Ravikumar’s direction will give the answer for the remaining questions.
Lingaa looks similar to previous films of Rajnikanth with many surprises which won’t unearth right now. So, the film seem a bit predictable. The movie has got one liner socially filtered dialogues at his enemies in movies. Apart from the predictable plot, it is Rajnikanth’s presence and action what makes us to stay connected with the movie.
Rajnikanth’s chemistry with Anushka and Sonakshi are amusing in the movie. Anushka portrayed the role of a smart journalist in the movie and plays her part well. Sonakshi’s big South debut can’t be ignored with this. She plays the role of a village girl, ‘gao ki chor’ kind of. Dev Gill as an antagonist in the movie is good. But, overall it is only Rajnikanth that makes magic and his action is the only thing that audience wants.
Another music director can’t be expected for a Rajnikanth’s film except A R Rahman. He has been giving fantastic tunes for all the movies of Rajnikanth and he composed music for this movie too. He was exceptional. Songs like ‘Chalak Re’ and ‘Din Dooba Hai’, penned by Gulzar for Lingaa’s Hindi version are good, while the background score is absolutely brilliant.
It’s Rajnikant’s dominating magic on the screen again!
