German Professor Apologises For ‘Rape Problem’ Email To Indian Student

In a shocking incident where German professor rejected Visa for an Indian student citing he is from a country where rape is considered as a huge problem. An image of the mail copy was first appeared on Quora and then it went viral on the social media. As the controversy went on and on, the German professor Annette Beck-Sickinger apologised for refusing the internship. Meanwhile the German ambassador to India condemned the incident.

Beck-Sickinger, who is a professor at Leipzig University, expressed her regret after her mails getting rejected and went viral on social media, which caused a wave of anger.

She wrote to the India student, “I have many female friends in my group, so I think this attitude is something I cannot support.”

In a reply, the Indian student asked her the reason behind her “painful generalisations” and “hurtful words”

A statement was uploaded on German embassy website with an apology of the professor saying,¬†“I have made a mistake. I sincerely apologise to everyone whose feelings I have hurt.”
