JioMeet, the Video Conferencing Platform by Jio to take on the likes of Google Meet and Zoom
The grand entry of Jio in the arena of video conferencing with the launch of its native platform naming JioMeet. While announcing its quarterly earnings on Tuesday, the Reliance Industries Limited exposed the plan to launch JioMeet. This new platform will take on the likes of famous Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom; all of them have gain popularity in India during the Coronavirus lockdowns. Though this won’t be a new project for Jio as earlier also they attempted to bring similar video conferencing platforms.
Reliance Industry, the parent of Jio has also revealed that JioMeet is launching as a national video platform under its Jio Platforms subsidiary.
Available on all major platforms
JioMeet is an agnostic solution, which would be accessible across iOS, Android, Window, and macOS window computers. This video conferencing is also available on Outlook through a plugin or even via chrome, Google, and Mozilla Firefox. The JioMeet will offer HD-quality experience and you can log in using your email ID or can join as a guest also.
After the final announcement, the listing of JioMeet will be spotted on Google Play and Apple store. The devoted microsite, who was detailing the feature of the platform, had received an update with the screen displaying thJioMeete message “Thank you for your interest in JioMeet.”

Some previous attempts
This is not the first time Jio is showing interest in the video conferencing platform. Previously also the company has launched a similar app naming JioChat app. After this Jio come up with the Jio Group Talk app, which enables the user to make the voice and video group calls.
Still, there is no clarity about the rollout of JioMeet. However, if the past is clue then the platform will be provided to the selective users before it reaches to the masses.
