Case registered against K Chandrshekhar Rao for ‘defaming’ Chandrababu Naidu :
An alleged audio conversation between AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and cash-for-vote scam complainant MLA Elvis Stephenson was leaked to select TV news channels late on Sunday night.
In the audio tape, aired by ‘T News’, whose management is close to the Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, and ‘Sakshi’, owned by YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, it appears as if a man who knew Elvis Stephenson called him on his phone and then handed over the phone to one ‘Babu gaaru’ to speak.
Parakala Prabhakar, advisor to AP govt, denied that the voice in the tape was the of Naidu. During the brief conversation, ‘Babu gaaru’ addressed Stephenson as “brother” and said “Manavallu briefed me (our people briefed me). I am with you. Don’t bother. For everything I am with you. What all they spoke, we will honour. Freely, you can decide. No problem at all. That is our commitment and we will work together. Thank you.” However, TOI cannot vouch for the authenticity of the tape.
After the audio tape was aired on TV channels, TOI tried to contact several ACB sleuths, including director-general (DG) AK Khan to verify the authenticity of the tapes and also to check if summons were going to be issued to Naidu.
However, the ACB chief said he would not comment on reports being aired on Telugu news channels.
